August 2021

August started with drywall going up in the washroom! Micheal (a guy getting married here) and his friend came over to help Frank during the weekend. They did a lot. Frank then finished it during The week. The following weekend they came back again and put on the first coat of mud. Here are the twins at two months!

Patti came to visit the second weekend of August. Its just such a zoo, that it’s hard to focus on talking to adults, without a child acting up.

The first week of August, Sophia and Alice, attended Soccer camp, at the Lansdowne school. It was a half day camp. They seemed to like it, and it was a good break for mommy and daddy for those three hours. This is some of the stuff we did in the afternoons:

August 7th we had a small wedding. It was ceremony only and very small.

August 8th - We went to visit Joe and Amanda for Joes birthday. It was a nice bbq, but again the babies acted up a bit and had to go home.

August 9th, Marie made an appointment to have her Honda Civic detailed, because she was getting it ready to sell. The service comes to your house to clean. They were suppose to be there at 9am, at 10am Frank called to see where they were. Unsteady of taking hwy 2, the guy took Kyes road and tried to get to our house through the field roads, because that’s where google maps says to go! The guy called a tow truck, but the tow truck got stuck too! Frank started up the tractor and got them both out. We then rescheduled the apportionment. The rest of the day Frank did second coat of mud and Marie took care of the kids.

August 10th the babies received there first set of vaccines. Benjamin was 12.5 lbs and Adam was 9.7lbs. We also went to Kingston to run errands.

August 11- Frank cut the grass in the morning and Marie cleaned the barn. It started to rain a lot. Frank then went and did drywalling. At night, a couple, Ryan and Emily, came over to help Frank mud. They are working off there wedding On August 28.

August 12 - the twins both got there younger tie snipped. It was hard on Marie because they were bleeding a bit, there speech should be good when they get older. It has been very hot the last week - temps reaching over 40! Hopefully it will cool down soon.

August 13 - we spent the morning getting readyFor a wedding. Our life is really stressfu! The 5 kids are so busy, plus the weddings, the washrooms, and trying to take care of ourselves. Often times, Frank and I ask ourselves what we are doing wrong because life is crazy right now. Frank worked on the washrooms in the evening on Friday-sanding and cleaning up, getting ready for paint. On Saturday, Marie was nervous for Bart ending the wedding. It was only 4 hours, but the first time away from the babies that long and having Frank do parking with 5 kids was stressful. The morning Marie went to the barn and organized the bar. At two the wedding started, and Marie and Jerry bartended. It was busy! Time went by fast and the wedding went by well. It was a good crowd. At 6, Emily, a girl getting married on the 28th of August came to replace Marie to work off her wedding. Her fiancé was supposed to help Frank paint, but cancelled. Eventhough we were offering $30 an hour agaist there wedding. So Frank painted By himself and Marie took care of the kids at home. The first coat of primer went on, in the girls washrooms. Marie let’s Peter run around naked when we are outside. Hopefully potty training will go well….

August 15th - We went to church today, first time since the twins were born. Benjamin was hungry, so Marie spent most of Mass feeding and Frank took the oldest three. I am happy we went. The afternoon, Marie took care of the kids and Frank painted the boys washroom.

Life, has been busy! This is a little late and I hope to get all the highlights right. We continue to work on the washrooms Aug 16-21. A big push to get ready for flooring Before we go camping. We bought peel and stick vinal tiles. After making some phone calls we decided it’s not a good product and returned it.

August 21, Frank and three kids drove to Ottawa to get an antique cabinet maker, for our bootroom. Marie stayed at home with the babies to get ready for camping.

August 22, we are in the middle of a heat wave! +40 with the humidex all the time, sweating non stop. We left for camping around 4pm after getting ready al morning. We had the other Frank, the car detailing guy, come over too, to look at the barn with his fiancé. They loved and picked a date- almost our anniversary! On the way to camping, we returned the tiles and shopped for groceries.

August 22-27 - Camping at Sandbanks. What a great time to camp! It was so hot and the swimming was amazingly refreshing. It was challenging with the babies, usI ally either Frank and I hung out with the twins, while the other swam with the other three.

August 27-31: When we returned from camping, we had to get ready for a wedding the next day. Frank cut the grass, took him a few hours. Marie unpackEd and took care of kids. Marie and Jerry bartender the wedding, it was nice break without kids. Marie would leave bartending a few times to go and feed the babies. The DJ was so loud! we asked him to stop at 1am, but hopefully the bride and groom weren’t too upset, but only a few people were dancing. The next couple days, Frank worked on his school work and Marie took care of the kids. Lights were installed in the washroom.
