December 1 - Alices Birthday! She was so excited, she counted down for weeks, actually months until this day happened. I hope she won’t be disappointed. She got balloone, magformers, a telescop, and some gel pens. Frank worked hard on school today.
December 2-we worked on the steel in the washrooms and trim.
December 3 - Frank worked outside and we fed solids to twins for the first time. Marie started refurbishing some furniture for Peters room.
December 4/5 - Worked continued on washrooms doorways and trim. Frank also started to take down the trampoline.
We went to church on December 5. Here are the twins at 6 months.
December 6 was a snow day, but we drove the girls to school because we went to Kingston. I started doing yoga in the evening after kids go to bed. The next day feels like i‘m in good shape…even though I have a long way to go.
Dec 7-we went to visit Babi and Deda. They were gone for three months, it was good to see them.
Dec 8-10 were regular working days. On Thursday, the day that Frank works on the house, we did the doors for washroom stalls. Here is a snowman that Peter and I built. We usually have this routine: we wake up, get the girls out the door. I help out while Frank makes breakfast and lunches. I get them organized and put them together. Then I walk them to the bus. Frank then starts his work and I take the boys. We always do laundry in the morning and while the twins take a nap, Peter and I hang out(making puzzles or drawing). Then we have a snack and go outside. During this time Frank makes videos for teaching. After a few hours we come in for lunch. The we clean and get ready for the girls to come home. When they do I go for a quick run. Then we kind of hang out and until bed.
December 11/12 weekend was pretty relaxing…well sort of. On Saturday we worked and built doors and cleaned up outside and on Sunday we wanted to go to church, but the power was out. There was a big storm and lots of trees fell in Ontario. We went to Joe and Amanda’s for a bit and also Goat Ridge Farms. We were inspired to get goats.
December 13 is my birthday! Frank got me a kettle and a treadmil! I can’t wait to use it. its sitting in our boot room. We have to clean and pressure wash the basement before we can move it down. I also have to motor a piece of the wall. We went to dance and Costco. Then we came home.
On the 14th…was a regular day. Except that Frank picked up the girls after school, with Peter! For the first time, in a very long time, I was home alone! It was amazing…well I had the babies, but they slept half of the time. It gave me a chance to prepare things for Christmas. When they came home, they brought a cake and flowers. Frank invited my parents and Skyped his BC family in to sing me happy birthday. It was really nice. Frank and I watch Die another Day, the new James Bond movie, after we put the kids to bed.
Dec 15th - crazy day! We found out that a kid on the girls bus had COVID, so all kids on the bus have to self isolate. No more school for them. I watched all 5 kids, because Frank had to work. It was busy. In the afternoon, Frank helped and we shared the kids. We were both able to go for a run. I also put a coat of lacquer on the bathroom doors. The night, the girls watched a movie and we cleaned part of the basement. Then I did yoga after the kids went to bed, and Frank worked on his coding. This was an art project that Alice did at school, and showed us how to do it at home.
On the 16th Frank did a bit of work, but then we took a day off! it was +14C so we went to Sandbanks. The kids rollerbladed with daddy and I went for a run. It was really nice, it rained a little bit. The waves were really big, there were kite boarders. I was surprised that they weren’t cold! We went to pick up stuff for Frank after and came home. It was a nice day.
December 17th. I took the kids in the morning, so Frank could work. He did some school work and then replaced the septic tank lid with Tom Steacy. We went outside and hung out until 1pm. Then my mom took SAP and Frank took the twins. It was really nice, I finally finished our 2020 taxes and started reaching things to do in Chile. I don’t know if we will go because it’s so expensive to rent a car there and now with the COVID variation picking up again, countries are closing there boarders! It is so frustrating.
December 18-19 Frank took Alice and Peter and I stayed at home with Sophia and the babies. I prepared for Christmas. We got a tree.
December 20-22 Marie went to Toronto with the babies. It was a great time to decompress.
December 24 was Christmas. Michelle came over. We had fish and went to church. Then we came home to open presents, I think the kids loved it!
December 25 we went for a hike and made turkey. Michelle came over again. It was very icy lots of freezing rain.
December 26-30 was pretty relaxed. We hung out a lot. Dec 28 I got my second COVID shot. Covid is pretty bad and stuff is starting to close again. We went to Ottawa on the 30th, to the National Art gallery, and to get doughnuts.
December 31-again it was pretty relaxed. Not much happened. Here is a picture of Sophia and Adam. She is an amazing girl with the babies! So attentive and changes them too. I am very proud of her.
