Benjamin and Adam had a one month appointment with there midwife on July 2. Benjamin gained 2lbs - 8lbs 7oz now. Adam gained 1lb - 6lbs 7oz. Marie is breastfeeding both, so far it’s going well. Pumping in the morning and topping them off before bedtime. Benjamin has a shallow latch - doesn’t open his mouth wide- it hurts mommy! Kids enjoying Daddy’s shaving cream.
This month we lost two Alpha males at the farm. The increasingly violent rooster killed the male duck. He was violent with everyone, jumped on Peter if mommy and daddy were not there. In fear of scratching the kids or worse, injuring there eyes, we decided he had to go. Frank shot it.
July 21st was Sophias eighth birthday. She received a Lego set from mommy and daddy, and rainbow coloured hair clips. She also received a Lego set from Babi and Deda a tent from uncle Tomas and an activity book from Uncle Dan. We went to Charleston Lake that day to have a bbq, swim, and treasure hunt. When we came home, we had an ice cream cake with Michelle, Babi and Deda.
We went camping to Presquil provincial park July 22-26. It was a beautiful park, we’ve never been. With COVID, it was really busy, I think people just want to be outdoors. With Adam and Benjamin, it was a bit harder. They slept in a playpen and Marie fed them at night. She didn’t get very much sleep. Frank and the oldest 3 kids, did ALOT of biking. They loved it. We would definitely return to this park. The hiking trails are also very beautiful and the beach is OK. Originally we were going to try for two nights, but the kids loved it so much, we stayed for four. We had to move sites, since it was so booked up. There is one picture of us moving sites - the one that has the tent on the trailer.
July 27th - rainy day! Frank is working on the ceilings in the washroom, kids are going crazy at home with mommy.
The remainder of July - 28-30 was Frank working on the washroom ceilings with Jerry. They finished! Also getting ready for July 31 weeding. Marie cleaned the barn and Frank cut the grass.
July 30 was Franks 40th birthday. He was supposed to have a vesectamy that day, but he postponed it. He didn’t want to take time off working on the washrooms. Instead we killed ducks in the morning. Marie plucked with Babi and the kids one afternoon, while Frank finished the ceilings in the washroom. We also had help from Michelle, who helped weed whack because we had our first post COVID weeding the next day. That night we celebrated with an ice cream cake. Frank got a security system for his birthday.
July 31 - drywall started going up in the washrooms! A guy getting married here in October and his friend were doing it with Frank. We also hosted a wending - Julie and Josh.
