June 2021

This was a month of change for our family!

June 1st we found out that schools in Ontario will not reopen for the remainder of the school year. We were hopI had that Sophia and Alice would be able to finish three more weeks, but due to COVID, this was not possible. Marie has been on vacation since May 19, from work, the pregnancy was very challenging and exhausting. With the time at home Marie focused on cleaning the home to prepare for the babies and home schooling the others. Frank has been working on electrical In the washrooms for the wedding business and teaching a spring course for St. Lawrence.

On June 3rd Marie wanted to get out of the house on last time before her scheduled c-section a week later. We went to Sandbanks for a hike. Although the hike was short, it was really hard for Marie. On the way back home, Marie started having mild contractions. they didn’t stop, that night Marie lost her mucus plug so she drove to the hospital to get checked out. They said it was Braxton Hicks and dehydration and sent her home. The contractions didn’t stop! That morning Frank called the hospital to see what should happen, they said to bring Marie back to get looked at again. Babi took the kids and Marie and Frank went to the hospital. They had another look and decided that a csection is necessary at that point. The babies were out less then two hours later. A was born first - 1:31pm - 5lbs 6oz, B was born second 1:34pm - 6lbs 6oz.

The recovery in the hospital was a bit different because it felt as though the staff was a bit rushed, I think this was due to COVID, there was a shortage of hospital space. A‘s sugar levels were low, and at 36hours, he was admitted into the NICU. Marie was very sad that they took her baby away.

Marie and B were sent home on June 6, without A. This was a very emotional moment for Marie. Marie visited A everyday until he too was dismissed from The hospital - 8 days later. Everyday he looked healthier, it took him a few days to keep his temperatur at a high enough level without being covered in blankets.

It was a very stressful time For Marie. The rest of June was an adjustment period for Marie and the babies. here is a picture of cuddling with A, finally home!

Peter was a bit jealous I was only taking pictures of the babies.

Babi took the other kids for three hours everyday and completed activities with them. Frank took them too and worked outside with them. Frank worked on the washrooms and his school work. He also worked a bit on his thesis. The Last week of June, Sophia had her first communion.

Frank started working outside with Joe and Tom. Taking down the front porch and putting sonal Tubes in for new posts, to support the porch. Peter is really scared of the rooster. Sophia loves playing the coding game and Alice loves her new camera. We also had 3 special guests stay with us for two weeks, as there mom abandoned them :(. This is our porch, before the demo started.
