September 2021

September couldn’t come soon enough! We are so excited for school to start. The girls want to see there friends and mommy wants to start doing more projects and Daddy wants to start teaching. Babi is leaving in September for a few months to go to Prague. She invited us to her house for dinner and celebrate Peter’s birthday on the 1st, even though its the 11th. But she won’t be here so she had a small party for him.

September 2-3, Frank continues to focus on preparing for school, while Marie cared for the kids. we are also working on getting a floor done in the washroom. We decided to use tongue and groove pine wood flooring. Hopefully it will last. Patricia also came to visit, it was pretty nice for Marie to see her friend.

September 4. Was a busy day! Frank worked on the floor in the washrooms with Jerry and Kurt. Kurt brought his kids with him, so Marie had 7 kids to take of! But, the girls all just played nicely, so it was easier in the end. The afternoon we had a wedding. Babi took the girls for a treasure hunt around the property and Marie had the boys while Frank worked on the floor. Here is a picture of the twins at 3 months!

Labor Day long weekend was first a wedding. It was a small wedding and they specifically asked that our kids do not go see them, as Sophia and Alice often go to the barn during a wedding to have a look. Thank fully Babi took the Sophia and Alice for a few hours and Frank worked on the floor that night. The next day Frank continued to work on the washrooms.

September 7! The girls and Frank start school today. Sophia grade 3, Alice grade 1, and Frank continues teaching from home because of COVID 19. Marie was excited for this day, but the reality is, that the babies and Peter are still a lot of work and the amount of work that Marie can do doesn’t really increase because the three boys occupy most of the day. Frank is starting to do short youtube videos for his courses at www.frankenlearn.ca, instead of live lectures.

The week went by fast, Frank worked on the washrooms and his school. Marie realized that by having Sophia and Alice out of the house is almost as hard as having them in the house. They really take care of themselves alot, just in school now they get to learn and be with friends. They are really happy there. Alice one day got off the bus and asked if she could be a walker the next day. I asked why, her response was “because I want to be with Quinn even longer”. Quinn is one of her best friends. I also asked her if she wanted to sit beside two people who would they be “Quinn and Ivy, of course.” She is a loyal friend! Sophias teacher is Mrs. Milks and Alice has Mrs. Dickson, again! (3rd year in a row.)

When the girls come home from the bus they always want to play video games! I feel they are a bit addicted. Especially to Mario 3D, they love it. The 11th was Peters 3rd birthday. He got some micro machines. It was also Holly and Kurts wedding. It was a busy day. Peter, is so innocent, he loved his gifts so much.

The 14-15, Steve Best was here. He brought his excavator and Frank and him did a lot of work. They prepped the front of the Washrooms, filled in the hole and pump chamber.

September 17 we were so exhausted with work that we got in the car and drove to Ottawa. It was crazy for the kids to go to a big city, they loved it. We got Suzy Q doughnuts and walked around the Market and parliment hill. We had Mexican food, we were rejected from a restaurant because we had too many kids. That’s the first time that happened to me.

September 18-19 weekend we worked. Frank built doors and the vanity and finished the wood floor In the washrooms. On Sunday we went to church. The twins made it through an entire service! On Monday the girls went to school and then after we have dance class. Alice is in Ballet and Sophia is in contemporary dance. They love it. Frank and Peter went to the rental property to start doing small projects that the tenants want. Like building a railing and fixing the floor.

September 22 a new rule was made, everyone has to be double vaccinated to be able to attend large gatherings. We will start having to check people when they attend a wedding here. I don’t want to because I’m breastfeeding.

On Thursday, Frank rented a sander to sand the floors in the washroom. Marie started staining. I chose Early American by Minwax, I thought it would be a nice old looking floor colour.

We also were not sure how to protect the wood. We used varnish in the house and because people would be waking on this floor with shoes from the outside, we didn’t want the floor to show the marks from it. We chose an oil finish, we hope that it won’t show damage from people walking on it with shoes on, but also protect it from water. Marie did four coats of tung oil. Adam and Benjamin are growing lots. I am excited for there four month appointment to see how big they are getting. They are now smiling at me and discovering they have hands.

The end of September, the girls continue to go to school. Frank is developing his teaching website with YouTube videos for his students and I am caring for the three little boys.
