April 3: went to church, was closed until May. We want to go on bridge, was closed! Went to Ivy Lea Park. Babies playing with light at night.
April 4: Living room messy and cleaned up. Michelle got us Suzy Q doughnuts.
April 5: Frank working on washrooms.
April 9: Saturday! The kids are all home. The kids wanted to play a board game. We settled on Memory, Sophia had to set it up. I think her attention to detail is really developing, here is a picture of her setting up the game using rulers. We also started cleaning the forest, did a burn, and Frank finished the steel in the girls washroom.
April 10: We grew our family by two more…we got cats today. We tried to go through the humane society… but our application wasn’t successful. We were recommended to get stray cats or barn cats. Thus we went to Bert Lynch, Dan used to work for him, two people suggested him. She was nice and he had a Jersey cow for sale, I really want a cow, but we don’t have a field for it :(, I would love to have a cow to milk. He told us about his friend down the road, they just had two sets of kittens. We went and they gave us two cats. They were born October 31, 2021. The children were so happy!! Alice is the primary care taker, she named them Sunny and Jazz. They are brother sister. They are a bit scared, that is why I don’t have a picture of them yet. We also went for a walk. It was cold for April. Here is the video of the weekend!
April 11: Monday! Girls went to school and I took care of the boys, while Frank did some work. We continue to slowly clean up the forest. Then I continued to clean up the attic and rock room. Here is a picture of the boys, after they all had a blueberries. Frank tried to work on window frames, but his table saw broke. He started to work on the railing. The cats aren’t adjusting that well, they are nice, but aren’t litter box trained... they better be soon, we keep them in the basement until they get it.
April 12: Today was a pretty regular day. I hung out with the boys in the morning and then Frank takes them from 12-2. Peter and I play memory and he is getting pretty good! During “my time” I cleaned the girls room. We haven’t been home three weeks and it was so gross. It took a while but it was finally back to clean after almost two hours. Then Frank worked on the railing and I hung out with the kids. We did some forest clean up and lacquered some doors For the washroom stalls.
April 13: We put the girls on the bus and went to Kingston. Frank was going to go for a vasectomy today but didn’t. We are not 100% sure yet. We will wait two years. We ran a lot of errands and then came home. Adam had some blood work done in the hospital l, at his doctors request. It was shard seeing him get blood taken. The kids hung out with the cats and we made dinner and cleaned up. Later we all went to bed.
April 14: Holy Thursday! The girls went to school today and I took care of the boys. We sanded doors for the washrooms. Frank worked on the railing. We also stained the doors for the washroom stalls. At night I did some sanding of the furniture for Peters room, I need a break from the kids!
April 15: Good Friday! The girls told us all about Good Friday today, they made sure that we fasted. Sophia had some jellybeans and chocolate and then told me how bad she feels because she didn’t fast. Franks dad came to visit today, he gave the kids some Easter chocolate, it was very beautiful. We blew out some chicken eggs and the kids painted them. Sophia was very good at blowing them out. It was also very windy today! We didn’t go out much in the afternoon. Frank put up door trim in the washrooms and I planted starter tomatoes and flowers with the kids.
April 16: A couple (with a four month old baby) came by today to work off their wedding. They dug a path and hauled asphalt onto it. They were here pretty much all day. Frank did trim and a window frame. In the evening I went running and we watched a movie.
April 17: Easter Sunday. Today we made egg shaped pancakes for breakfast and it also snowed durning the night. Frank was sick! We prepped a turkey lunch and went outside. I cleaned up brush in the forest and Frank moved sand. We had a burn, lots of brush. We then had lunch, it was really good. We then watched a movies and Frank went to take a nap. We then went back out for a bit, and also played a board game. It was fun.
April 18: Easter Monday. Today started early, I went to hide eggs. Frank was watching the babies, they were awake. Then as I was hiding the eggs, outside, Sophia walked by. She didn’t see me with the chocolates, but was close. She was on her way to lay carrots out for the Easter bunny….and to let out the chickens and ducks. She is so helpful! Then we had the egg hunt after Alice and Peter woke up too. Peter was so happy. Frank was sick, so I then made breakfast and went to clean the barn with the kids. It went ok, but really hard with 5 kids. We then watched a movie and I lacquered doors and got pictures for my dad’s birthday party. We then went outside and I gave the whole family haircuts! Then we had dinner, I went for a run, and bedtime!
April 19: Today was suppose to be a regular work week…well sort of, it’s actually Franks first day back from Parental leave! Sophia was sick at home - she had a flu. Alice went to school…which looking back on was probably a bad idea (she got a stomach flu, that day). We cleaned the barn and Frank had a meeting with his boss and worked on trim and windows in the girls washrooms. Michelle made us soup for dinner, it was delicious.
April 20: Sophia and Alice were both at home sick. We went to Kingston to prepare for my dads 75th birthday party. It was an all day thing. That night Alice puked an incredible amount of times! Frank stayed with her to help her. He was not impressed that his sleep got interrupted, he hasn’t yet slept one night with the twins in the same room! I feel like a walking zombie all the time.
April 21: The girls were both home from school again today! Alice slept most of the day. Sophia helped me clean the barn. Babi and Deda came back from Florida, so we went to visit them. Then we cleaned the barn more. Sophia helped wash the tables. Frank helped move tables. I hope the party will be nice. Frank also worked on the female washrooms most of the day.
April 22-26: April 22 Lucie was here and we were getting ready for Deda’s 75th birthday party. I cleaned up the barn and invited a bunch of people. It was going to be pretty nice. That night around 1am Sophia woke up with the stomach flu and was throwing up, I started throwing up at 6 and Frank at 7. Peter was sick too. It was an awful day. We had to cancel the party, because we didn’t want anyone to get sick and we literally felt like we were going to die. It was really hard to take care of the babies. I was really bad, around 3pm I could finally start keeping water down. We tried to rest as much as we could. On the 24th we felt a bit better, I felt pretty weak. But could eat. It was a slow day. Frank moved some asphalt and ai took care of the kids. The 25th, the girls went to school and Frank and I went back to a regular routine. I started to feel better from the stomach flu, but my throat really hurts. Hopefully it will heal up because it is annoying to keep coughing and it wakes up the babies. I started sanding a dresser for Peters room. Frank worked on trim.
April 27: I am sick and weak. I don’t do too much. I take care of the kids and sanded a dresser. It is almost done. Frank continues to work on the women's washroom trim and the girls went to school.
April 28: Marie is still a bit sick, I can’t seem to get rid of the cough! I have been trying to rest but still not going away, hopefully with warmer weather it will change. The girls went to school today. Sophia isn’t doing so well in reading and needs extra help. I wish I had more time to sit one on one with her! We cleaned the house and went to Kingston to do groceries. When we came back I had to go out again to get baby food, I went with Sophia. It was weird to drive again, I haven’t driven a car since January. We went outside and Peter started to ride a bike with training wheels, the bikes really rusty so if we oil it up it might get better. Frank cleaned the women's washroom, he’s pretty much done in there and I cooked dinner. Then we painted window frames and went to bed.
April 29: It has been a fairly busy Friday! The girls went to school and Frank worked on his job. I took the boys outside. We cleaned up the forest and lay some limestone down around the fence posts. We were trying to clean up the property a bit because we have a wedding on Saturday (ceremony only). We then worked on the washrooms a bit. Frank was finishing up the girls washrooms, I have to now go in and wood fill and sand/stain the trim. The couple that’s getting married got set up at 4 and had a rehearsal. When they left, Frank continued to clean up the washrooms and I took care of the kids.
April 30: Saturday, kids were at home. We woke up and had breakfast, then we went outside. Frank continued to work on the washrooms, he shovels pile of asphalt too, so that it’s not ugly for the wedding. It went into the forest, to form a path. I then went inside to make lunch. People started arriving for the wedding at 2, the ceremony was at 3. they took pictures and weren’t gone until 5! It was a beautiful day for a wedding. In the evening we played board games, Catan junior. Frank continued the washrooms. I wood filled some holes and got the barn ready for my dads party.
