July 2022

July 1: I was really sore this morning. It was a hard day to move around. I was really really sore. Then I cleaned up everything from camping and went grocery shopping. That night Lucie and John came. We hung out a bit. Alice is getting ready for the party. She drew every person a picture.

July 2: Baptism Day! Today the girls ran over to next door right away, to help Babi get ready. They are very social and they got to hang out with there cousins Henry and Charlie. Dan and Hanna came too, but left early because they were scared they might get sick. They did run the race -4km. It’s an annual race to see who’s the fittest. John always wins (14:58). Dan came second (19:30), and Frank came third (21:53). Sophia and Alice rode there bikes. When they returned we got ready for the baptism of Adam and Benjamin. I thought it was nice, just family. Lucie and John were the Godparents. Then we had dinner at my moms. It was really good. The kids played. It was a nice family day. Peter had to pee, so in front of everyone he just started peeing…we have to teach him that he can’t do that!

July 3: Today was a slow start to the day and then we cleaned up a lot. The house was a disaster! We then had lunch and went to Kingston. We did groceries, Lowe’s, and picked up a signing table for the weddings. It was a relaxing evening. We got home super late and went straight to bed. Oh yes the cat also found 2 small birds and brought them home, we tried to nurse them back to good, but they were pretty hurt, we also don’t know how. We tried to feed it chicken food and water, but they died:(. Alice was pretty sad.

July 4: Today was somewhat of a regular day, except all the kids were home. I cleaned and Frank worked. I hung out with the kids and we went outside. Then I organized the kids school stuff that was sent home and our camping gear in the attic. Frank moved some dirt and worked on installing the mens urinals. I then painted the deck some more, it’s turning out to be pretty nice. Alice has to fold laundry, as a chore, I went to check on her today and she fell asleep on top of it, it was pretty funny. Sophia helped paint the fence a bit.

July 5: I woke up today, not well rested, only 5 hours of disturbed sleep. Frank and I watched Stranger Things till 1 and the babies woke up at 6! I had a tooth ache, not fun. I was able to get into to see the dentist as an emergency in the evening. I thought it was my implant, but it was the teeth around it. There were so many nights I passed out without brushing, just because I’m so tired! I had an infection and now am taking antibiotics. I feel better. Frank cleaned the workshop and took SAP to a boat museum to see a tugboat. It was really advertised at school, so they were excited to go. The cat caught a snake and it was really injured, but not dead, in the house. There was blood all over the ground, Frank caught it and brought it outside.

July 6: Regular day! Babi took SAP in the morning and I was able to work on my garden a bit, the weeds are a disaster. Frank did some urinal work. Okay n the afternoon we went to Alice’s and Peters soccer game. Peter didn’t want to try at all and sat on the sideline the whole Game!

July 7: we woke up and we’re about to have breakfast, but, the phone rang and it was the dentist. They had a last minute opening and I rushed to Kingston, with the girls to take it. They waited 1.5 hours for me. They had an iPad and visited me a few times. It was intense. They removed the implant, did a root canal and filled a cavity. Sophia saw my tooth opened up with some metal rods sticking out. I hope she’s okay seeing that, seems like it. We then went to the mall to buy some clothes to get ready for camp. It was nice just hanging out with the girls :). At home Frank and the boys hung out, he did well and it was the longest I’ve ever been separated from the babies…5 hours. We then worked on the universal washroom door, and I painted a bit, the deck, and weeded my garden.

July 8: Today was a home day. My mom took SAP in the morning to the Skydeck. The kids said they had a really good time, it’s a taller tower in the 1000islands, that lets you see a pretty view of the islands. I got to weed my garden, it’s looking a bit better. Then I sanded a dresser and a bench. I would like to redo all the bench tops, as they are starting to peel and look bad. Frank then worked on the universal washroom door and making me some signs for the venue. In the evening I continued painting the deck, it’s almost done and started on the fence. The kids played a lot when we got home. The girls are excited to go to camp on Sunday. Peter is so curious and excited all the time, he does take 50% of my parenting energy. The babies took a bath and Adam smile the whole time, I’ve. never seen him so happy.

July 9: Today was a regular home day. Frank and I both worked and took care of kids, we took turns. I sanded and stained and Frank sanded the universal washroom door and made signs. It was a good summer day. I also packed the girls for summer camp. There first time away from home, this is crazy! I’m going to miss them a lot. I hope I don’t over pack them.

July 10: We went to church this Morning. B was a bit sick and A slept through all of mass. We then drove the girls to summer camp. Alice is a bit nervous. When I dropped her off, she seemed a bit scared. I went back to the car to get her toiletries, because I forgot them, and then saw her again, and she seemed like she was making friends. I hope she has a great experience. Sophia also seemed happy too. Driving away from them was hard, I’m going to miss them. We went to Kingston and did some shopping and then home. I painted a section of the fence and lacquered some trim in the boys washroom. Then we went to bed.

July 14: Alice won the most generous award at camp, she makes me so happy <3! We definitely noticed a bit of maturity in Alice, even though she was only gone for 3 days. We tried to have a regular day. I sanded the fence and 2 benches. Frank moved dirt and cut the grass. I think it was a nice day. We also had about 20 ducklings hatch! I love the small ducklings, they are so cute. The last batch is definitely not cute anymore. Outside the 5 ducklings didn’t do so well. 4 went missing and the last one we took inside because it too might go missing. We now have about 80 birds on the property! I told my dad no more eggs, and he said why? I said we have enough birds and he said there is room for more. A and B are getting better, they were both sick.

July 15: Relaxing day. We started out pretty usual, had breakfast and took care of babies until nap time. Then I weeded a bit and sanded the fence. Frank finished cutting the grass and missed the boys washroom. He also put supports on the bottom of the benches so they don’t fall over so easily. Peter and Alice went swimming with Babi and Deda at Charleston Lake. Peter fell asleep on the way back., he slept for a long time, he is still a bit sick. Then Frank made some chicken wings and I sanded some benches, I did 13 already, out of 21. I have to get them done before the next wedding. Then we did a bit of yoga and went to bed. Here is a picture of how much Adam grew in one year!

July 16: We are complete again! Today was a crazy day. I left early to go get Sophia at camp. Alice came with me. Frank kept all the boys, they did some errands, ones that you didn’t have to get out of the car (garbage, trailer pickup, and concrete mix pick up). I got Sophia and then had to go to Kingston to run some errands for Frank. When I got back Frank and Tom and my dad started digging the culvert for the parking lot. It’s a big job, cleaning it up, hopefully it will be done before the wedding next weekend. I hung out with the children. When Frank finished with Tom I started sanding some benches, i have to get them done ASAP, because it’s going to rain next week. Then we went to the Lansdowne fair. Sophia went on a super scary ride with Frank. She was very brave. Peter went on some rides, too.

July 17: Long day! We got up and went to pick up a cabinet from Max Sold. Then we went to Lowe’s and Costco. We came home and Frank started working on the culvert. The couple that is getting married next weekend came by. Thankfully they don’t want to use the benches, because I don’t know if they will be complete. The kids were all really well behaved. They love running through the sprinkler.

July 18: Today was a pretty great day. The girls started a horse camp, so I think they are happy. Frank worked on his bubble stuff and he helped watch the kids while I cleaned the barn. I really tried to clean the tops Of the beams, there is so much dust, dirt, and poop! It is super gross. I hope one day the barn is really clean, so clean I can lick the beam and feel confident that there is no dirt. It rained a lot today! Alice and Peter got pretty dirty in the mud. A and B are almost walking. I sanded two benches in between rainstorms.

July 19: Before bed last night, the power went out for about 10min. Frank said that a tree probably fell on the power line. This morning when we were getting ready, Alice was outside walking around, I asked her what she’s doing and she said she was looking for the tree that fell on the power line <3! I love her! The girls went to horse camp today. I continued cleaning the barn and Frank worked on the culvert, he made the form and will do concrete tomorrow. He also sanded the boys washroom, to get it ready to paint. I enjoy cleaning the barn because I feel more connected to it, it’s really weird, I really getting attached to it. I gave the 27 1 week old ducklings to my dad today, they smelled really bad in the house. My dad set them up in the chicken coop. There are so many birds in there now! In two weeks, we are going to kill some. The girls went to horse camp today, it is so hot! Then Sophia had a soccer game. When we got home I painted the fence and three benches. Then got the kids ready for bed while Frank worked on the culvert.

July 20: Very Busy day! We always do this, we have a wedding on Saturday and the couple is coming tomorrow to set up! We are not ready, we need a few more days. But we have to do it, meaning we work super hard and kids watch a movie at night. Sophia and Alice went to horse camp this morning and Peter went to Babis. It was nice, I got to clean the barn. Frank worked on the culvert, he has too, because a building inspector came by, unannounced and asked us what we were doing. We didn’t have a permit, it went well, he didn’t fine us, we have to get a permit. It was a really hot day, we sweated a lot! Frank pored concrete in the heat. I also worked on hemming the drapes in the barn for the weddings. I’m the evening, I took Alice and Sophia and The twins to soccer, Alice was playing. She played really well. Then when I got home, I vacuumed the barn. It was so dirty, because earlier in the week I cleaned the tops of some of the beams, and hay and poop came down.

July 21: Sophias Birthday! She was so excited about today and I hope she had a good day. We started off by having soft boiled eggs, Sophias pick. Then the girls went to horse camp. I hung out with the babies and then when they napped I cut some grass. They didn’t sleep very long, so I then cleaned the washrooms up a bit. The wedding couples mom and dad came, so we walked and talked to them for a bit. Frank worked on the culvert and cut the grass. We sing happy birthday to Sophia and had an ice cream cake. She got a huge Lego castle, a chicken necklace, and another Lego set from Babi and Deda.

July 22: I wish I was busy today, but all I could do was walk around, my back was so sore. I don’t even know what I did to it. Casper and Meagan come to start setting up for there wedding. We were still finishing up things around the property, it wa a mostly Frank because mid my back. He worked on plumbing and grass cutting. The couple seems happy. My back starting feeling o okay, so I tried to weed my garden. It then started hurting so bad. I took a lot of pain killers. It hurt to sleep. Here is a video I made while my back hurt.

July 23: Wedding day. My back felt better. My mom came to help me With the kids, she took Peter and Alice. I was able to take care of the twins and put them to sleep. While they slept, Sophia worked on her Elsa castle ( she loves it!) I cleaned the washrooms and Frank finished cutting the grass. Then I got all the kids and hung out with them while Frank did the parking. The guests all loved it. While the wedding was going on, I started cleaning the house and getting ready to go to BC. It was pretty stressful.

July 24: Travel Day! So stressful! I wanted to clean the barn, but it was a disaster! My dad told me to leave it because they will clean it up, it’s true, but they never clean to my standards and when we come back, the other couple would have already tried to start setting up. I’m a bit worried, but I have to let it go. I hope the new couple won’t be too upset. We finished packing and cleaning. Then we got in the car and drove to Ottawa. We dropped off our car at Dans house and got on the plane. It was a direct flight, the kids did pretty well. They had there own tvs, so the girls watched a lot of movies. Frank had Benjamin, he slept a lot. I had Adam, he slept very little! Peter opened up the vomit bag and someone else vomit spilled out. It was super gross. Because of that, we got free meals and candy. When we got to Vancouver, we went to an air bnb and slept. Peter took a shower! The beds were ridiculously hard.
