May 2022

May 1: It started out as a bit stressful because it was my dads party. Frank was really nice and took all the kids outside and I got time to prepare. I made cinnamon buns and a large Greek salad. We then went to the barn. Not too many people came, probably because I moved the date a week before, since we were all sick. I think it was nice though some very moving moments. We then hung out at home and I cleaned up.

May 2: Monday! The girls went to school. Frank worked on his job in the morning. We then drove to Kemptville to pick up 100 weeping willow trees. I am going to plant these on the other property. Hopefully by the time we build our retirement home there, they will be tall and line the driveway. In the afternoon, Frank did some trim and I sanded trim, getting ready for staining.

May 3: A pretty normal day today. I started gardening, but it’s pretty wet. Hopefully it will dry up soon. Frank started working on the mens washroom. I continued to prep for staining and painting trim in the female washrooms. Sophia is now reading a novel with me, so hope her reading will get better. We read one chapter a day.

May 4: A had his first tooth grow it was at the top. It’s funny because it is opposite of B, who’s first was at the bottom.

May 5: This was a really long day! The girls went to school and Frank and I left to go to a Kingston. We were going to clean up garbage at the rental and then shop, all before 3:30... we left at 12:30. We left late because we my mom took Peter to the library. Peter came home and said “I love Babi and she love me so much” it was really sweet. We cleaned a huge trailer full of garbage and it took until 2:30. We dropped it off at Kimco and went to the school to get the girls. We then drove back to Kingston to shop. We went to Lowe’s, Costco, Walmart, and some returns too. We were really tired of shopping when we got home. Also the ducklings hatched today from the incubator!

May 6: Frustrating day. It started OK. The goal was to plant trees, wen bought 100 weeping willows to plant on our other property. I want them to grow for 20 years, and then when we start building there, it has a beautiful lined drive way of willows. Anyway, we packed up all the stuff we thought we needed and headed over, it’s about 1km away. We started talking and realized we forgot a few things, so we headed back. Then a franks dad came and by the time we started heading back, it was late. Peter pooped his pants, so we had to go back. Frank then said we will go a different day. So I hung out with the boys outside while Frank did school work. When the girls came home Frank went outside to work on the steel in the boys washroom, but, he cut his finger. It was pretty bad.

May 7: Today we went out to the other property as a family. We took a long time deciding where the driveway would go, so we can plant the trees. We finally decided that it will go down the middle. A 40 ft driveway width and 25ft apart. We cleared about 45 sections in one day. After the Centre line was established we could see that it could go faster. The kids did well, except that they got a lot of ticks on them. I hope we got them off during bath time. Frank stayed until sunset and I went home earlier to make dinner and give the kids baths. Hopefully tomorrow I will get to plant the trees.

May 8:

May 11: Frank catch up on school day. I took care of the kids and also started gardening.

May 12: cut some grass. Frank almost finished boys. Last thing is the water and plumbing, which is a big job.

May 13: tried to cut grass but hit a rock and broke bearing. Marie planted berry bushes. Marie finished sanding in the female washroom, night off from kids! Excited to start staining.

May 14: Frank worked in the washrooms and started digging a trench, only to find out that there is concrete underneath. Tom Steacy, our neighbour, hit our fence with his tractor.

May 19-23: These last few days have been kind of a blur. We are very busy! The girls go to school and Frank and I just work all the time. I stay with the boys, and Frank does his job. We are really trying to get the washrooms running, we have a wedding coming up on June 4th. Frank bought a lot of plumbing supplies and he is going to start hooking up water. The last few days I have been lacquering the wood in the girls washroom and making windows. Frank heads been putting up trim in the boys and getting ready for plumbing. We Finally got our lawn mower part, so I don’t have to push mow it anymore. The kids are doing well, they are growing up so fast! Alice is becoming pretty independent and I’m not too sure what she’s up too sometimes. Sophia is independent, but, always telling us what she is doing. Peter is acting up sometimes, I think it’s because we are so busy. I’m excited to not be this busy in two weeks (after the wedding). The babies are into each other.

May 24-30: Time is going so fast! We are very focused on the washrooms. Frank is trying to hook up the plumbing. I’m trying to clean and make the property look nicer. We are stressed. The kids help sometimes and they watch movies.
