October 1: Wedding day. This couple is very relaxed about there wedding, they really didn’t do much planning. I’m bartending and had to get a lot of the other stultifying, cups, ice, straws…We cleaned up garbage today around the property. There was lots of empties that I returned (65$). Then I had to go to Kingston to get Franks computer, while he stayed and took care of parking. When I got back, I had to go set up the bar. It was so disorganized. Catering and DJ had no idea what’s going on. Frank took care of the kids. It was cool, so the wedding ended pretty early(11). There was a really cute couple dancing at the wedding, non stop for two hours. I hope that Frank and I can be like them. Sophia picked out Alice’s clothes in the picture.
October 2: Today was a pretty relaxed day. We had pancakes and went to church. It was nice to go to church. When we came home Frank did a bit of school work and then duct work for the barn, so that we can get the furnace in. It is getting cold and we still have three more this year. Frank is very particular about how straight the rows are. We also put up some drywall. I hung out with the kids outside, but is getting so cold. We had to make a fire in the wood stove to keep warm.

October 8: Saturday! Another wedding day-Emma and Misha. This couple came to us pretty late in the year, they were lucky because we had a cancellation and a spot was open. They were the ones that put the furnace in, with Frank, in exchange for a wedding. Because it was only going to be a high of plus 10, there was a big push to get it running. There were 4/16 vents hooked up. They had a cool wedding inside, but warmer then outside. I think it got to about 17 inside, Frank said. They were a young couple from Brockville and they seemed very happy. All the wedding guests seemed to like our chickens and ducks. We had the power go off because they had the electric heaters running too, they replaced the fuse and it went on again. It was really scary at night time because Peter had a really hard time breathing, we gave him the inhaler and it helped, but Frank almost took him to the hospital. He was sick all day, it was really sad, I wish I could take his pain away:(. Frank worked on vents in the morning, he got two in. Then I went to Kingston with SAP, to drop off Alice at a birthday party. It was Charlotte’s and it was at Xtreme trampoline. Sophia asked if she could stay too, and they let her. It was really nice of them. I went to value village with Peter and we shopped for toys and some outfits for a video and photoshoot I want to do of our family. Then we picked up the girls and went home, Peter slept. When we got home we went for a run as a family around the horse track. We couldn’t cook dinner because we didn’t want to blow another fuse, so we ate out. Frank finished the day off, by doing drywall in Peters room.
October 9: Today is Sunday. Frank and I are both pretty tired from Saturday night. We hung out and don’t get that much sleep. The babies woke up early, so I hung out with them. We tried to go to church, well we did. The babies didn’t sleep and they were pretty noisy, so I left after 15 min with them. The rest of them stayed. After, we went home to check out how clean up was going and to grab some money. We drove to Gan to buy some lunch and groceries. We then took a bunch of family pictures and videos. It is pretty hard now, to get everyone organized, there are so many kids! We then made dinner while Frank installed a duct.
October 10: Thanksgiving! Today started with the babies waking up fairly early, except that Adam is really sick. He has a hard time breathing…again! Two weeks ago he was in the hospital, if it gets worse, I’ll bring him in again. Frank started the day by making pancakes and school work. Then he went out to kill 6 ducks, we have so many to kill this year, maybe 20 total! I did some dishes again for the my dads business. I have to clean them all before the next wedding. Luckily there were only 65 people. I plucked 4 ducks today, Sophia and Alice each did one. Adam was with me the whole time, in and out of sleep, he was working hard to breath :(. Peter seems good now though, no more coughing. We baked a duck for dinner and I made dumplings. It was pretty good, just wish we kept it in the oven longer. At night, Frank played video games with the girls while I cleaned up.
October 11: Today I sent the kids to school. Frank did some vents and killed a duck. I did some of the fence, washed dishes, and window frames. I also took the girls and the babies to dance, while Frank kept Peter. It was not as nice with the babies as the one on one time is.
October 12: Today was a pretty regular day. I cleaned the barn and the library a bit. Everyone went to school. At night we went to skating lessons. It was Peters first time and he sort of got it.
October 13: Thursday. Today started with me taking the babies and Alice to the dentist. Sophia and Peter went to school and Frank got to be at home, alone for a few hours! I think he did the vents in the barn…who knows though! Alice had two fillings done and me and the babies hung out in the waiting room. They found a massage chair with a control panel that they loved. Me and Alice did a bit of shopping and went to Swiss chalet. We then went home. Alice played video games and watched her dragon show on Netflix, she is so into dragons and keep asking me if they are real and if anybody has ever seen one! I cleaned the boot room. When Frank came home I was behind on dinner and cleaning, so he helped me a bit and he also did some venting.
October 14: Friday! We were so tired so I let the kids sleep in. I drove them to school. Peter stayed at home, because he kept us up half the night….first his ear hurt, then his throat, then he didn’t have a pull up, and he wet two beds! I painted the fence and went for a run and did some dishes for Jerry’s business. When Frank came home, he went to work on the ducts in the barn. At night we tried to play video games, but with all of us, it is a bit frustrating.
October 15: Wedding day! Today we started by Frank from detail magic coming over with his staff. They helped Frank do the duct work in the barn and build the concrete pad frame in the back of the house. I took the kids and made lasagna. The girls carved pumpkins from my garden. The wedding was big and whites Claire, Amanda’s sister, to help me. Thankfully we did because it was so busy!!! The whole night was busy. It seemed like they had a good time, but didn’t talk to us at all. Frank cleaned up a bit of the library to get ready for demo! And insulation soon.
October 16: Sunday, recovery day. The wedding was so busy, that I didn’t get a chance to clean during the event, the tables. So I did afterwards. Which took a long time. I went to bed at 3am and Frank at 4. We slept in today, and luckily the babies did too! We didn’t go to church because we have to go to the 9am mass, since the 11am isn’t starting untill May again. We did go for a family run and drive, it was relaxing. Then we did stain glass with Alice and took baths. Frank did some more duct work in the barn.
October 17: Monday! I was really tired today, what an exhausting weekend! The kids went to school, and Frank killed a duck. He then left to go to work. I cleaned up a bit. Today I mainly organized all my life things, like photos, journals, letters, work, school stuff. It took a long time and lots of memories! Then the kids came home. Frank came home late and we had dinner and went to bed. These are pictures of Peter at school, from his teacher.
October 18: Frank left this morning to go to work, he usually doesn’t because it’s Tuesday, but today was important. Peter was a bit sick so I had all three boys at home. We went to the doctor to get the twins there chicken pox shot. It was interesting to go with all three. They took measurements of all of them and here is what it was:
October 19-21: Wednesday to Friday. The week was pretty normal. I cleaned the barn for a wedding this weekend, the couple came and started coming to set up Thursday. Frank continued to put in duct work in the barn after work. I took the kids to skating practice on Wednesday. Peter was really bad:(. I hope he learns, the coaches held him the whole time! I wish I could go with him, it’s hard when he’s in school and I have the babies. Michelle was over too, she now lives with Bobbi in New York, she was visiting. My dad told her to come help me with the dish order, she ironed the table clothes, it helped a lot. Benjamin in now walking well too. The babies are so cute.
October 22: Wedding! This was our last wedding for 2023. It was an amazingly warm sunny day. They were very lucky. I bartended and it was a nice wedding. Luckily they didn’t need the furnace because it’s not ready. I hope it will be soon.
October 23: Sunday! Recovery day. We went to bed at 4am. It was late and I only slept 4 hours, the babies woke up at 8. Everyone else got a sleep in. We had pancakes and then worked. Frank worked on the concrete pad with the other Frank for half the day. I painted the fence and took care of the kids. We then went running and to Brockville to get a present for Sophie, Alice’s friend, who is having a birthday party tommorrow. We had Pizza and watched a cat documentary. I was so tired I feel asleep.
October 24: Today all the kids were at home because it was a PA day. Alice went to a birthday party. I painted the fence and started cleaning my dads dishes from the wedding. Frank killed two ducks and went to Ottawa with Sophia. They picked up a washer dryer and fridge. They went to the mall. I stayed home and took care of the four other kids and plucked the ducks.
October 25: Frank went to Kingston today for a school meeting and then some computer time. I painted the fence and then cleaned the house. I got the kids all ready to go to Kingston because the girls had dance class. Frank met us there. He helped me watch the kids while I went grocery shopping. After I had to go to the office to reset my password for my work computer. It was weird to go back in to the office. I find it so meaningful to be at home and such a waste of time to work. I receive a good salary though, it makes it worth it. All the boys in the family are sick.
October 26 - 31: These last few days I haven’t been wringing. I took a bit of a break, but here are some highlights. I have been looking for a nanny, it is really hard and thinking I’ll try a home daycare, that seems hard too. Everyone in the family has some sort of flu. It started with Frank and Peter and then the babies, then Alice. Sophia is the only one that didn’t get sick. I feel a bit under the weather, but, it as bad as the boys…Man cold! Frank is working on school stuff. He had reading week, but was sick most of it. We got a new washer/dryer and fridge. B and A are walking well now. They are great babies and super curious. They are independent. Peter is a great boy, he is so happy all the time <3 definitely a mamas boy. He likes to cuddle me and say that he loves me. The kids continue to do skating and dancing. Halloween was so fun for the kids… maybe all except for Alice who was sick, she went anyway. She did well, but tired by the end. Peter had the best time. He definitely was a cute Olaf.
