September 1: This was the last day of camping. We went swimming and for a hike (dunes beach). Frank and the kids rode there bikes a lot. Peter doesn’t want to try his bike, he has started running alongside Frank, while he bikes, though. He loves it, and he gets really tired. We had a campfire too, it was nice, again, a bit challenging with babies, but, luckily B slept through it.
September 2-3: we packed up at Sandbanks and went to Kingston to do some errands. I went to Costco and Frank went to buy a new drone. He bought it at Costco. He went in first and then came and got us. He left his wallet on the windshield of his car and he didn’t notice until it flew off on the 401! We didn’t get the cards, but, we did find the wallet. He was upset again! We came home and cut the grass. There is another wedding happening. I unpacked. The next day, Frank finished the grass and cleaning the property. I hung out with the kids, I’m going to miss them when they go to school. I bartended the wedding. Frank took a lot of drone shots, he really enjoyed it. The wedding was nice and they loved it!
September 4: we didn’t do much today. We went to church. Frank sanded a table, and built someshelves, I took care of the kids.
September 5: Labour Day! It was a long day today. I tried to get stuff done, preparing kids for school, but having all 5, it was really hard. Frank prepared for his job all day today and then at night went to ultimate frisbee. I tried to clean up and cut hair, but only got Alice’s done. The girls are really excited for school. Benjamin is sick:( he has a high fever and is stuffed up.
September 6: First Day of school for Alice and Sophia!! The girls are really excited. They got new shoes and lunch kits. They put on there clothes, had breakfast and went to the bus stop. While we were waiting, a car, ran the bus stop. It scary that the kids can get hurt when drivers miss the stop sign. Luckily the girls weren’t crossing the road. I was at home with Peter and the twins, while Frank ran errands and did work. I managed to organize the girls clothes and clean the attic a bit. I felt accomplished! Finally! I also lacquered a table for the barn.
September 7: Today was a day with me and the boys at home. Frank left early in the morning. I took the girls to the bus stop and then hung out with the boys. It is hard to get anything done! But it is the last day Peter is at home, I am going to miss him lots 🥰. Frank came home around 5 and then did a light in the house. We then went to bed, B was pretty sick at night so my sleep wasn’t the greatest.
September 8: Peter is going to school today!!! He was pretty excited, and nervous I think. He was very brave though. We got ready and off he went, it was so weird to be without him…I miss home! The twins got more attention, finally. Frank went to work and then it was just me and the babies. This is the day I was waiting for all of May leave, just me and the babies…only took 15 months! It was a nice day, went by fast. We cleaned up the house, painted a section of fence, and worked in my garden. Then the kids came home. I was excited to see Peter, but, he fell asleep on the bus, I could not talk to him until about 6, when he woke up. He said school was boring. We did some work on the house when Frank came home.
September 9: what a day! I worked so hard. Frank went to work at 7:30, so I got all the kids ready. SAP went on the bus to school. I cleaned the entire house and packed for camping, painted the fence, and worked in the garden. We are going to Canadas Wonderland tomorrow. Getting an hotel or air bnb for our family was at least $300 a night, so expensive. Luckily it’s still in the 20s for temperature, so camping is an option, it’s only 40$ a night. Kids and Frank came home around the same time. He had to get some pads for a furnace that we are installing into the barn. We packed up the car and went to Darlington Provincial Park. We got there at 10pm…dark and cranky. We were pretty fast at setting up the tent, the kids went to bed really quickly.
September 10: Canadas Wonderland!! We woke up and drove to CW! We parked outside the park, and walked the 1km to the front gate, we save $25 on parking. Patricia met us there and it was nice to see her and Adi, she is getting big. CW was so busy! Line ups everywhere and it was so hot and sunny. Because it is fall season, the water park was closed. We spent more the then half the day in the kids park. The line ups were about an hour pellet ride! I was going crazy. Alice went on a crazy big roller coaster. We stayed till close and then drove back to Darlington PP. all the kids slept so well, so tired!
September 11: Happy Birthday Peter! We woke up in Darlington PP. we packed up and checked out the beach. Then we drove to Toronto. We walked around the city. Saw TIFF stuff, but no celebrities. Lots of people were waiting to see famous person. We walked for a few hours and then drove home. It was nice to sleep in a bed again with the babies.
September 12: We let the kids sleep in today, since we got home so late. I left early to go to the demand Frank drove the kids to school. He then drove to Kingston with the twins, to give them to me. He went to work. I came home and cleaned up after camping and organized baby clothes. Then the kids came home. Adam is sick :( I hope he gets better soon. Probably all the germs from CW. The girls did some homework. Frank came home and helped me with giving them all baths. We then went to bed. Sophia did 3 hours of math homework!
September 13: The kids went to school this morning l. Frank was at home, but we didn’t do that much, even though it was a working on the house day. The only day of the week, and one light got installed. It is so painfully slow, I think the kids will be out of the house before they get a shower! I’m really frustrated because there is nothing I can do to make it go quicker, it’s all on Frank. I cook, clean, care for the kids. He always has higher priority things. I started cleaning the barn, for the wedding this weekend. I only get a small window when the babies nap to do work outside. I found a lot of raccoon poop, about a grocery bag full. It was gross. I replaced some lights and organized the decor area. I also put up flowers to hang back the curtains, I think it looks really nice. When the kids came home, I took the girls to dance. It was nice to have 1 on 1 time with each girl. They are growing up so fast.
September 14: I got the kids ready for school today because Frank had to teach early. It went really well, I hope all mornings are so positive and calm. Both Adam and Benjamin are kind of sick, so they were whining a lot. I started working on the window frames again, but couldn’t find glass. I cleaned the barn too, but Benjamin woke up, so I couldn’t finish. Then I hung out with the babies and prepped dinner. When the kids came home we hung out. Frank came home, I went to the barn to finish cleaning. He cooked what I prepped. Alice lost a tooth. There was a raccoon in the barn, it was watching me, so cute. I didn’t tell Frank because he’d kill it. We celebrated Peters birthday. Sophia made wrapping paper. Peter got a dinosaur bed spread and a Lego set. Then went to bed.
September 15: I’m trying to adjust to my life as a stay at home mom, but it’s a bit hard! Feels a bit lonely, hopefully I’ll get into a routine. The babies are pretty sick and if they get worse I will take them to see a doctor.
September 16: I found another person to help me build some furniture for the home, so I’m really excited for it. I also got all three kids into skating, which was an accomplishment! Today I got all the kids on the bus and took care of the babies. They are still really sick. It was a hard day in so many ways. Here are pictures of Sophia and Alice’s new classes.
September 17: Today was another wedding. Lindsay’s wedding. She came to us in 2017 and wanted to get married in 2020. Then because of COVID, she had to wait until today. She waited so long. Frank cot the grass and took out garbage. I left to go get glass sheets for the windows, so I can finish. I got there, it was two hours away, and it was really thick and maybe tempered! So annoying. Hopefully it will work. Then I went to Kingston to surprise my friend Caitlin for her fortieth birthday! It was so nice to see my old friends. I miss them. It was also nice to get out of the house.
September 18: Today me and Alice and the twins went to Upper Canada Village. It was the fall fair and the last day this season they were open. It was raining, so not too many people were out. Alice didn’t like it too much, until we went to the magic show and the store. I think she had a good time. At night we hung out.
September 19: I got the kids ready for school. Adam was pretty sick, his breathing was so loud and fast and he was so tired all the time. I decided to take him to see a doctor. I went to the Children's Hospital at Hotel Dieu. I took 2 hours to get through triage. Once they finally saw me, they noticed it was pretty severe and took him in right away. Benjamin slept through the whole thing. Then the doctors came and listened to him, they said he has a lung virus-brocolitis. They said his oxygen level was at 91 and below 90, they do assisted oxygen. They were worried that at night it might dip below, so they admitted him to the hospital for monitoring. Benjamin couldn’t come, so Frank had to pick him up. It was the first night that I didn’t spend with B, in his whole life. Frank said they had fun and he slept well. Adam also slept well in the hospital, they had a bed that we shared. He had a wire pad on his toe that when plugged in, would measure his oxygen level. They didn’t wake him at all to measure the levels. He kept his levels high enough that he didn’t need oxygen.
September 20: Frank had to cancel his class, because I couldn’t watch Benjamin because I was in the hospital. The doctors kept checking on Adam, he honestly seemed so much better after they suctioned the mucus from his nose. They sent him home, just after 1pm. Finally freedom! I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere because I had to stay with Adam. It was pretty boring. Here is a video from our room and another video of window making that I made while I was waiting.
September 21: Finally a regular day with healthy children! We got up, the three kids went to the bus stop. I was at home with the babies. I cleaned up part of the living room cabinets and tomorrow I want to finish the bookshelf. I went outside with the babies. They took a nap and I cleaned the barn, but, there nap was so short that I couldn’t finish. Frank came home around 4:30 and he had to prep in the barn, to pour concrete, for a furnace installation that we are doing. Mischa is getting married October 8 and he is an HVAC guy. He’s doing the furnace work and he is getting a free wedding. I finished cleaning the barn because the babies took a second nap.
September 22: not too exciting day. It rained alot and the wedding couple was setting up a lot. In the evening Frank peeped the concrete pad for the furnace.
September 23: Today was a bit crazy. Frank went to work and I had to take all the kids to the Denise for cleaning. I came at 9:22 for a 9:20 appointment, it’s 40 min away with 5 kids and they said I was late, but they will try to make it work! Thankfully all three kids went in. Sophia and Alice both had cavities and Peter was brave to sit through his first cleaning. We have to go back next week to get them fixed. We rushed back to there school, so that they don’t miss picture day. I went home and worked on my garden. There is a chance of frost! The kids came home shortly and then Frank. He had to prep for a concrete pad in the barn, for the furnace, and cut the grass. The wedding couple seems very happy and excited for there wedding tomorrow.
September 24: wedding day! Frank woke up early to go help a guy work on the furnace in the barn. He also went to the dump. Me and the kids hung out. We walked around and cleaned the house. In the afternoon, I bartended. It was really fun, especially because I ran in to a guy I used to tree plant with. So awesome! We got to talk about old times.
September 25: what a day! Frank worked on the furnace during the morning. We were up late last night because of the wedding, so not much sleep. Me and the kids watched some tv be a it was raining. As I was washing the dishes I heard Alice screaming outside. I looked out the window and she was screaming at a large new dog outside. I went to see what was happening and she said she saw it pick up a ducking and carry it over in his mouth. I picked up the duckling and it was already dead. It was so sad, and it was really sad to see her so upset. I love her, she wears her emotions on her sleeve. In the evening the kids and Frank played video games.
September 26: Monday! I was excited to get a few hours with me and the babies to get things done around the house. Sophia and Peter were sick and they actually stayed home! Sophia was upset that Peter was sick because she wanted to be home with me, just her and me. They played a lot of video games, it rained a lot, so we couldn’t go outside. I started washing dishes for my dad because he runs a side business of renting dishes to our wedding guests. He and my mom are travelling around Europe, so I have to run it for him, but it is only two weddings. On the way home from my parents, we got caught in a rainstorm and we saw to most beautiful double rainbow. It was a nice day. I finished a workshop window frame too.
September 27: Peter and Sophia went to school today. Was excited to get some kid free time during the babies naps….but Peter jumped off a climber at school and the concern was he hurt his ankle. They said I should take him to a doctor. I went to pick him up and he was fine…ummmmm…so we just hung out. I did more dishes for my dad with him. When the girls came home I took them to dance. We had so much fun dancing in the car singing to songs! We also had nice one on one time together at the cafe in the dance building. Both of them ordered the meringue.
September 28: Wednesday. The kids all went to school today, was nice. I cleaned the house and dishes. I also worked on the window frames.
September 29: Thursday. Today Frank got Peter ready for school. The other kids went with me to the dentist. Sophia and Alice both got two fillings done. They did good. Sophia went to school after, but, Alice came home with me. We hung out with the babies and had a good time. When Frank came home, I went to Kingston. I bought a Cricut Joy to help me make signs around the property and some lacquer. Lacquer is now 122$ a gallon. Two years ago I thought it was a lot at 80$! Wow things are changing so fast. When I came home, we went to bed.
September 30: Friday! Peter stayed at home with me today. School is a lot for a 4 year old. I don’t want to push him to not liking it. He seems to be doing okay. There are 27 children in his class and only 2 teachers! Must be busy for them to have 27 3-4 year olds. We had fun at home. The couple came to set up for there wedding today. They cut the grass. Frank came home early to work on the furnace. At night we didn’t do that much, just went to bed, was a long week.
