April 2023

April 1-2: Was the weekend! Frank and I worked on the benches. Sophia tried to play an April fools joke on us, by putting fishes on our backs. Franks dad came to visit us. Sunday we went to church, for 9am. It was early for us. We had a good weekend. Peter is collecting Happy Faces again to get another Lego set.

April 3-6: This was a pretty normal week. Still trying to recover from March break. The girls had dance and they had skating too. We started a program in Kingston, so they are starting to advance there figure skating. It’s 8 weeks and they seem to like it.

April 7-10: Was Easter Long weekend. Me and the kids had 4 days off. It was nice! We did lots of work around the house and we went to Ottawa on Saturday. It was nice to get out of the house. I think the kids enjoyed us being outside the home too. They loved to ride the city bus, most exciting thing they did in Ottawa. We went to the mall and walked downtown. They were curious and asked lots of questions. On Sunday we went to Church. A and B were so bad, and noisy, that I had to leave for half the service. Peter Alice and Sophia go to Children’s Liturgy, so that is nice for me and Frank. On Monday Frank went to teach, me and the Kids did an egg hunt in the forest. Then we went to Babi’s house for lunch. Then Frank came home, it was a tiring day to have the kids all day. I am also a bit sick so I feel super tired.

April 11: Tuesday was an office day for me. Our daycare is closed this week, so my mom took A and B for a few hours. I came home picked up the girls and went to dance with them. We went to Swiss Chalet after, they loved it. They like the colouring pages they have there and they got iced tea! So exciting for them. I went to Costco as well.

April 12: Today I stayed home, but my mom still helped watch A and B. Frank went to work and I worked from home. When the other kids came home we all went to Kingston for skating. Sophia and Alice go at 5, it’s hard to have all the kids there and try to get them ready. Peter skates at 6. Frank comes around 6:45 to help me take them home, he works until 5:30 on Wednesdays. After skating we had dinner and went to bed.

April 13: We had no daycare again today. Luckily my mom was able to take A and B all day. Frank had to teach and I had to work. I had a few meetings, my bigger one didn’t go so well. I feel like Im not doing a very good job, it is hard with all the kids. Frank came home late today. We hung out a bit and went to bed. Frank is stressed because he has a lot of tests and it is end of the year. Alice is becoming very emotional, she has a good heart, but also whines sometimes. Sophia is very bossy, because she has to be with so many siblings. It was also plus 25 today! It finally feels like summer.

April 14: Friday! I took a half day today because the babies are still at home. I tried to work a few hours in the morning, but it is really hard with the constant need that they need. They are very busy babies, they constantly destroy the house. Everything has to be dumped or emptied. Cereals, crackers, and drawers! So messy. I put them for a nap and I was able to do some work. IT was nice to have a bit of a break. Everyone else went to school and Frank went to work today.

April 15-16: The weekend. It was so beautiful with weather! It felt like summer, plus 25. We did a lot of landscaping, we are trying to get the grass to be full and very nice for the wedding buisness. So Frank got 12 loads of horse manure and spread it around the wedding area, I took a few and put it into my garden. Then it started to rain, and we put down grass and fertilizer ontop of it. Hopefully it will be nice by May 13th wedding. It looks pretty bad now. Frank worked hard this weekend.

April 17: Yeah it’s Monday! I know it sounds weird to say that, but today things kind of go back to normal. The babies daycare is open, so I can catch up on some work. Heather, the daycare lady, came home at 5am and we dropped off the babies at 8am. Her flight was late. I hope everything will be okay. Alice stayed home with me today. She slept most of the day because she was sick. Frank and my dad worked on the breaks on my car, they are trying to save me some money. That is nice. Chicks are hatching. It got cold again. It went from plus 25 on the weekend to plus 5. Here are pictures of old me and Frank.

April 18 : Tuesday. Today I worked from home. Alice was feeling better, so she went to school. Peter stayed at home, he was on the fence about going to school today. He begged me to stay home and since I worked from home I said okay. It was fun to hang out with him a bit. He’s a great kid. That night we were suppose to go to dance, we did not because my car wasn’t working. The brakes were still off. My dad was trying to fix it, but he got too cold. When Frank came home he did it, but, I couldn’t leave with the girls because I had all the kids. We went to Costco at night after and got home super late. Everyone went to bed. Here is a picture of Alice being proud that she was the only one that didn’t fall asleep.

April 19: Today was a long day, lots has been happening. I went to Toronto, and left at 5:30am. I went to a meeting there and saw the site. I got home and took the kids back to Kingston, for skating. Frank took Peter and Alice to the doctor this morning. Peter was tested for impetigo (he has sores on his face) and Alice went to check out a mole on her back - she’s fine. The nurse was apparently very mean to Peter :(. Peter didn’t skate today because he said he was too tired. When we got home I made dinner. Frank came home really late because he has work. It is his last week of teaching. At night we went to my parents house for a bit to wish my dad a happy 76th birthday!

April 20-28: I did not write too much, because I am so busy. At work I am travelling a lot, by car. Lots of driving to and from Longueuil TS and Cherrywood TS - about 1000km a week. I am so tired. I do come home at nights because I don’t want to stay in a hotel, I want to see the kids. The girls continue to have dance and skating. The babies go to daycare. Frank and Sophia are sick, and need to rest. Frank has a really sore back. We are working on making the outside look nice for the weddings. Frank is spreading lots of dirt around and I am re-pointing the side of the barn.

April 29: Saturday. Today was a bit of a sleep in day, but not really, because Adam and Benjamin are still a little sick and I didn’t sleep that well. Adam wants to breastfeed all night but I need to take him off because it’s painful after about 10min. He gets so mad, that he screams and it’s hard to calm him down. Benjamin is a bit like that too, except a bit quieter. A guy came over at 9am today to help us work. He is working off his wedding. He cut foam back in the library. It rained until about 3 and then we went outside. I planted some peas with Peter and Sophia. The babies were sleeping. Alice is sick too, she was inside the house sleeping. Frank did a little bit of asphalt but his back is hurting him. At night we didn’t do muck, watch a movie and went to bed.

April 30: Sunday. We started the day with a burn. It was Sunday. We didn’t go to church. It was early and Frank and Alice are sick. I worked a bit cleaning the forest. Then we decided to go to Ottawa. Sophia really wanted to go and it was nice to get out of the house. We just got doughnuts and went to the mall. It was nice. We also got Sushi. When we came home we took baths and went to bed.
