August 2023

August 4: Today is a Saturday and I am happy I finally get to sleep in. Adam woke up pretty early though. I then hung out with the kids until 3:30pm. We had a wedding today and that is when I went to bartend. Karl and Frank woke up early to start smoking a brisket. They had it going all day. Frank did a bit of drywall in the library. He parked people, it was a big wedding with so many cars. My dad helped me bartend because it was a huge wedding. Karl also helped me, but, he was drunk! It was fun though. The crowd was nice. People were telling me how jealous they are of me, and all I could think of was how overwhelmed i constantly feel.

August 6: Sunday! So tired from the wedding. I went to bed at 2:30. Frank and Karl went to bed later because they put garbage away. They didn’t feel so good in the morning. I had to go to Kingston to get ready for Sophia’s birthday party, which is today. I bought food and some crafts for the kids, tie dye. I was so stressed out and tired. When I got back I made the goody bags and some snacks. Frank then set up activities for the kids, there was a big range of kids that came. Boys from Sophias class, then some girls from Alice’s, and from Peters. Olivia and Isabelle came too. I hope they had fun. It was awkward when the parents were dropping them off because the couple from the wedding was cleaning up, there were beer cans around our property. When the party ended, Frank, Karl, Sophia, and Alice went to see Franks dad on his boat. I cleaned up, it was relaxing because I knew the wedding and the birthday party were done and I can stop stressing about it. That night we went to bed pretty early, we were all tired.

August 7: civic Holiday. Day off of work, but honestly at this point going to work is a break from home. Everyone was home, including the babies and Karl was here. We still don’t have a car so we can’t really go anywhere. I pulled some worms from my tomato plants in the morning with the kids. Then I put the babies down for a nap and add lunch. Frank and Karl finished drywall if in the library! Time for mudding. They went to Gan to do groceries, but, everything was closed. It rained a lot too. We had some drinks and made dinner, then we went to bed.

August 8-10: The summer is just flying by! On Tuesday and Wednesday Karl was here. I went to work on Tuesday (in Ottawa) then I drove to Casselman to pay for our new van. When I got home Pierre, Karl, and Frank left to go to pick up the car. They then went out for dinner and came home pretty late. The next day I had a presentation at work so I couldn’t take a day off. Frank and Karl and SAP went to Ottawa. They hung out for a bit and then he had to catch his flight home. I spent the night at home with the babies and we hung out. Then I went to clean the barn, getting ready for a wedding happening this weekend. It’s a small one, it’ll be a nice break. On Thursday I went to work again and Frank was at home with the kids. He wasn’t too happy. I came home late too, but it all worked out. We didn’t do much at home on Thursday, there was a big.

August 11: Friday! I worked from home today, well tried too. All the kids , except for A and B were home. It’s hard to focus. I helped cut the grass a bit. I push mowed the parking lot and weed whacked. I took care of the babies when they came home. A wedding was being set up. Lots of kids, Sophia and Alice and Peter made some friends that invited them to the wedding the next day. Alice was so night we went so excited, she was trying on her dresses and picking which one to wear. At night we went to Kingston to do grocery shopping and some stuff at Lowe’s.

August 12: Saturday. Today is a wedding and Seb was suppose to come help Frank work on the washrooms. He’s a guy that is trying to work off his wedding. He didn’t show up, Frank was a bit stressed that he would and he didn’t have anything for him to do. Frank installed more cameras. Then he did a bit of mudding. I bartended. It was really slow, and there was another lady there, a helper, that brought her two daughters. They cleaned up so well. I only made about 50 drinks.

August 13: Sunday! We went to church. The babies are crazy, so Frank left 10min in with them. I stayed with SAP. It was nice to go to church. Then we went to Ottawa to Calypso water park. The kids loved it! They had so much fun. I hung out in the wave pool with the babies, they loved it too. It just started raining the last hour, and they got really cold. I went back to the car with them and waited for Frank and SAP. We went to bed pretty late.

August 14: Monday, back to work. I went to the office today. Frank got all the kids ready in the morning. He went to drop off A and B at daycare and the girls at Sailing camp. Then he hung out with Peter at the rental property. He ripped out the ceiling in the washroom, because it was caving in. I came to help him move a couch during lunch time. I then went for a run after work, but my keys were locked in my car, so I had to ask a stranger to use their phone to call Frank to unlock the car. Frank left and went to ultimate frisbee. I went home with all 5 and cleaned up and made dinner. I gave them all baths, I felt bad that I didn’t after the water park…only a day late.

August 15: Today was a nice day. It started crazy to get everyone out the door. Then I got to work at home, alone. It was really nice. I got a lot done. I also got caught up on laundry and cleaning and made a homemade soup from my garden. I think it’s time we start being more healthy. When the kids got home they were pretty tired. Sophia even took a nap, sailing must be hard work. They seem to like it. I am happy they are doing something other than paying video games all day. They use sailing terms that I remember from when I did lessons, it’s really cute. Adam is being really needy, but, honestly I don’t blame him. I’ve been so busy that for me to notice him he needs to follow me and whine. Hope it gets easier soon.

August 16: Today I went to the office. I’m feeling a bit down, because of all the fighting Frank and I do. It’s really starting to break me down, I cry a lot. But, I went to the office today. I feel safe there, with people that are really kind. Thankfully I saw my good friend Patricia today and she cheered me up. I also picked up the girls after sailing and we finally got to hang out - Just the girls. They are such great girls. When we got home I went to clean the barn to get ready for a wedding this weekend. I’m nervous because I’ll be home alone, Franks leaving for a guys thing, so I’ll have all the kids and a wedding happening. Thankfully my parents are next door incase I need help.
