February 1: Today is a PA day! Weird that it is a Wednesday, I think it has to do with the high school exams finishing up and semester two starting on Thursday? I worked until noon and then took a half vacation day. Frank worked in the afternoon, as he thankfully, doesn’t start until 1:30 on Wednesdays. We hung out for a bit and then I took them to skating lessons. They are all getting pretty good. Peter is skating without assistance! That is a huge step from October, when he started.
February 2: Today is a regular day. They all went to school/daycare. I stayed at home doing a training course for work. It was different doing it online and not in person. I think it was a bit of a waste of time. Michelle came over for dinner. It was nice to see her.
February 3: Friday! Yeah, it’s almost the weekend. Everyone went to school/daycare. I finished the course today. Then I got the kids and we just kind of hung out. Frank did some work on his bubble stuff and we made dinner and went to bed. I am getting sick. Can’t stop coughing. I’m so tired too. The babies are not sleeping very well. It is super cold at night -20’s.
February 4-5: What a weird weekend! Saturday was -30! So cold. We didn’t even go outside. Sunday was +3. We went to church, the temperature difference was crazy. We kept the heat lamp on for the chickens and ducks, so they didn’t freeze. They still laid eggs though! Frank worked on the library both days. He is almost ready to build the wall, put the windows in, and then it gets sprayed! Excited to have an office, with a nice desk and chair. This is my current set up.
February 7-12: I am very behind at writing; life is getting pretty busy with going back to work! I hope it will become manageable soon. This is some of the highlights that happened during the week. Monday was regular. Frank is getting into the bubble breakup stuff now, so he has been devoting some time to it. He also did some work on the library after work. On Tuesday was dance. I went to Costco and we went to Mekkong. The babies are transitioning well into daycare. They don’t cry anymore and the pictures that I do see, they seem to be really loving it. Heather is a great day care provider. On Wednesday I went to Toronto, for work. I left at 5:30 and was home by 3, so I can do pick up. I am getting busy at work because I must put together my first schedule. It’s due on Thursday and it took me a while to create it because I’m learning a new software too. It was also a snow day, but the school was open, so Frank was able to drop off the kids at school and daycare. They really like going to school when it is a snow day, they say it’s fun. At night I took them to skating. Michelle watched Benjamin, and I took Adam. I couldn’t take both because my car only sits 4 passengers. Thursday was a stressful day at work, I had to finish the schedule. I couldn’t take any breaks, because time is so valuable. Friday was another snow day, they were calling for freezing rain, but it didn’t even happen. It was a day with no snow or rain, and no school. They went anyway! Except for Peter. Peter’s teacher called me on Friday and says he is mis behaving more lately. He screams at kids that don’t share or pushes them. We really have to teach him; I wish I had more time for them. On Friday I did hang out with Peter, and he seemed to be very loving again. He is a good kid. On Friday night we played a lot of video games. The weekend was so beautiful with weather. It is unseasonably warm, over 0. All the snow is melting. On Saturday, Peter had a birthday party. I went to drop him off and planned on running errands with Sophia and Alice in Gan. However, since it was at the movie theater and there was a jungle gym, I had to stay. It was awkward, because I had other kids with me. We sort of crashed the party. I think Peter had a good time, until his friend Sam started hanging out with his other friend and Peter got a bit jealous. He kept saying how much he loves Sam. When we got home I went outside for a bit with the kids, we pushed each other on the sled on the ice. On Sunday we went to church and Charleston Lake. When we came home Frank worked on the Library and I cleaned the house with the kids and made dinner. It was a fun weekend.
February 13-16: Monday was a Regular Day. School, work, daycare for the family. Frank worked on the library at night. Tuesday was regular, except Frank stayed in Kingston, I went to meet him with all the kids at night. Tuesday, we went to Costco, it was Valentine’s Day. I bought a Lego set, Peter came with me and picked it out. We told him he would get if he is a good boy. So, we made a chart and when he does something good, we give him a happy face. After 50 happy faces, he gets the Lego set. He has been so well behaved; he is trying hard! We then went to Denny’s. They have kids eat free on Tuesday’s. The food was so gross, it makes so much more sense to cook at home, it’s healthier and cheaper, especially for a larger family. On Wednesday I went to Belleville for work. Frank got the kids ready for school. I then picked them all up and went to skating. It is stressful with all the kids and no help. Adam and Ben were whiny. Maybe they are tired. I don’t know how their nap schedules work. Alice and Sophia are getting really good at skating. Peter is too when he tries, today he spent half the lesson lying on the ice, eating it. No happy face for him! Thursday Peter was sick and stayed at home with me, while everyone else went to school/work. His throat hurt.
February 17-21: Again, behind on my writing. I made some videos and pictures from Family Day Long weekend>. Babies got sick :( Here is a video I made. We also went to Howe Island and skating in Ganaoque. I didn’t get it into the video, but here are some pictures of the super small fairy.
February 22: What an a long day! The babies were up every hour, they are so sick, especially B. He just sits up and cries, and I don’t know how to calm him down. He doesn’t want my milk. He did take water though, thank-fully. It was Josh’s last day at work, so I wanted to meet him early to get information out of him, because I ‘m taking over some of his projects. I left home at 5:30. I got to Cherrywood, by 8:30, and Josh didn’t show up until 9:30, ugh! Then after our meeting I rushed home, because I thought Frank wanted to teach his classes. He would have missed the first hour, because he was taking care of the babies. He cancelled all the classes though, and stayed at home. I then went grocery shopping, who knew Costco would be so busy in the afternoon! Then I went to pick up the kids at the bus stop. We went home, Alice had a breakdown because Sophia told me that Alice was being mean on the bus. Alice didn’t want me to know, so she cried. She asked me to forgive her. I told her to just be nice, don’t do it again. Hopefully she will be. The kids got report cards. They all did pretty well! Except Alice is struggling with reading a bit. I think though that she is better then Sophia was in Grade 2, maybe just the teacher being hard? They all did well in Math. The three older kids went to skating with Frank. I was so scared about the babies, that when they came home, I took the babies to the hospital. It was a long night. Lots of waiting. Benjamin had a chest X-ray. They think he might have a bacterial infection, so they prescribed him antibiotics. There was a crazy big snowstorm, so driving home at 3 am was no fun. It was really bad, I went 45 the whole way home, and luckily nothing happened. We fell asleep at 4am. The babies had a crazy long night. I hope they get better soon.
February 23: I was at home today. Frank went to work. It was also a snow day. The snowstorm last night was pretty bad. We took the kids to school anyway. The school was open, just, no buses. The babies slept a lot. I wish I could too, I was so tired. Frank is stressed out, he didn’t get more work done. It is hard, hopefully going to work today will make him happy. I am also super stressed. With the babies being sick, and my job, it is all very hard. I went to bed at 9pm, when I did, Adam threw up on me. It was so gross. I hope they feel better soon.
February 24: Another sick day! I am so tired. The babies are sick and they aren’t eating. Still pretty scary. Benjamin is so traumatized by people putting medication in his mouth that he cries if you go near him. He won’t take the soother anymore. Adam is just low energy. They do sleep a lot. I put them on the ground, and they usually start walking, but instead they just lie down. I wish I could help them more. It is hard to work from home with them sick. Frank came home at 12:30 so I can do some work. That night we just hung out with the family, lots of cuddles with the babies.
Feb 25-26: Weekend! It was so cold on Saturday, -20s. Frank didn’t want to work because it was so cold. The kids wanted to go to Ottawa, so we went. It was nice to be in the car, because I think the kids were able to sleep a lot. When we got to Ottawa, we went to IKEA. We spent a while there. Benjamin was really unhappy in the stoller, so I carried him a lot. I don’t know why he didn’t like it. They are getting a bit better and eating a bit, maybe he just wanted to move around. We also went to the mall downtown. It was pretty sketchy in the parking lot, Frank went to the bottom level in the corner. The security guards came right away to investigate what we were doing. We also saw lots of homeless people doing drugs. Looks like that is where they hang out, it is cold outside and the underground parking lot was pretty warm. We walked around a bit, the kids loved the Lego store. Then we drove home after having some dinner. It was a nice break for us. On Sunday we stayed at home, no church. Everyone seemed to be doing better. Frank worked on the library and I hung out with the kids. We went outside for a bit, the fresh air was nice. At night we played Blokus and I got ready for a meeting on Monday morning. I stayed up until 2 am.
Feb 27: Monday. Frank is off this week because it is reading week. Because I had a pretty important conference call, I went to the office. Going to the office after last week, when the babies were sick, was so nice. It was a good break and to re focus on my work. I came home at 4pm and we hung out at home with all the kids. Frank did a bit of work on the library, the electrical inspection is tomorrow, so he had to wire up some outlets.
Feb 28: Tuesday. Kids had a snow day, but we drove them to school anyway and the babies to daycare. The electrical inspector came and passed the electrical on the library. I worked from home. At night we went to Kingston for dance, Costco, and Lowes.
