June 2023

June 1: Today I worked from home. The twins were home with Frank and me and SAP went to school. I worked on my job and Frank and the babies pulled Ethernet from our house to the barn. I also cleaned the barn and washrooms for the couple that is coming by later to set Up their wedding. The couple getting married this weekend wants good internet. Since she is from China and her family couldn’t attend, so she wants to live stream her ceremony. My dad helped pull the cables too. At night Alice and I did her Animal Facts homework, she has to talk about Chameleons to her class. She is pretty excited. Sophia and the babies took a bath and made such a mess! I was upset at them. After everyone went to bed, Frank went to work on the speakers and the kids went to sleep, except for Sophia. She came to visit me and we heard the chickens. It turns out we forgot to lock them up and something got into the chicken coop. I went out there, and was pretty scared. Luckily the animal was already gone, but they’re missing chickens. We found the rooster and a chicken outside in front of the house, thankfully they weren’t eaten. It took us about 30 min to chase them back. They were so stubborn and can’t see well in the dark. Frank stayed up super late to try to make the speakers work! I stayed up a bit to catch up on my work. Peter got in trouble at school because he pulled down his pants 🫢. We had a talk about it. Alice is doing well in school and I think Sophia is too, although she doesn’t really talk about it.

June 2: Today the kids went to school. The twins were at home with Frank and Me. Frank watched them in the morning because I had a meeting online for work and I had to finish up some work. He went to Kingston to get some cables to make the speakers work. The babies napped during that time. When he came home I took the kids and he cut the grass, because the couple that’s getting married tomorrow is wanting it. It was really hot, plus 30 today! The babies like playing with the water table and like to explore a lot. When the other kids came home, we watched a movie because it seemed the couple that is getting married wanted privacy for their rehearsal dinner. I cleaned the house. It felt good to clean, I feel so much better. Frank finished cutting the grass and then went to work on making the speakers work. Hope it won’t be a late night again.

June 3: Today Frank slept in because he worked late last night. I watched the kids, they were all home because it was a Saturday and it was also another wedding at the barn. Frank got the internet to work in the barn too. The sound system was great during the wedding, very loud. I bartended, they drank a lot! For 55 people, it was pretty busy for me. The babies were great today, they really like it when I read them a story. Alice shovelled a load of dirt into a ditch, so we can cut the grass there. Sophia did work for money all day, she is trying really hard to earn 27$ so that she can get Pokémon cards.

June 4: Sunday! We were tired from the wedding. I went to bed a 2 am and Frank later because he was still doing garbage after I cleaned up. I was tired. We went to church. The babies were so bad I had to leave right away. B feel on the concrete outside the church and now has a big mark on his forehead. Peter joined us shortly afterwards. We had a small picnic after for the priests birthday. It was a nice surprise. Then we drove around and put the babies to sleep. I had to clean the barn, to get ready for a Monday Indian wedding! It went quickly, because the couple before was clean. We then went to Babis house, she made us dinner and cake for A and AB’s second birthday!!!! Wow two two year olds…fun 🥴🥴! Then Frank went and installed a speaker and we went to bed. The sound system is all done and it is really nice and crisp sounds!

June 5: Monday! Heather was back from vacation, so we were able to drop off the babies. What a nice break. Frank finally got to work on his computer, he was pretty happy. I worked from home. It was nice. When the kids came home we hung out, Frank went to play frisbee and got home late.

June 6: Today was Tuesday. I left early to work in the office, I am suppose to go twice a week. Frank got the kids ready. He had the house to himself all day! He did some school work and replaced vents in The barn. I left work a bit early so I could pick up Sophia from school because she had a dress rehearsal. I went for a run, although maybe I should’ve not because it was so smoky from all the forest fires that are happening. Kids don’t go out for recess because it is too Smokey and all frisbee and soccer games have been canceled. Kind of scary! After we went home, had dinner and went to bed.

June 7: I took half a vacation day today. The kids all went to school/daycare. First, Frank and I went to the barn. I cleaned up because the wedding people are coming to set up around noon. Frank put in a floor register. Then I painted the fence, a very slow job, it takes an hour to do one section. I did two. It is very smoky and wasn’t supposed to rain, but it did a bit and hopefully the paint won’t be ruined, although I am super thankful for rain. Frank mudded the girls washroom ceiling and worked a bit in the library. Almost ready for drywall! I did some gardening. The chickens are really bad this year, as soon as I plant something, they dig it up! So frustrating. Me and Alice went to dance, her rehearsal. I ran some errands and Frank stayed at home with the other kids. When I came home we had dinner and the kids watched a bit of TV and then bed time.

June 8-16: I have not wrote in a while and lots has happened! The end of the school year is fast approaching. There was a wedding on Saturday - it was small and low key. They were an older couple, so it was nice. The bar wasn’t too busy. The food was really good. It has been really dry lately, and there are a lot of forest fires in Ontario and Quebec, so as a result our air quality isn’t very good. Luckily later this week it started to rain, so I hope that helps out everything. The grass was starting to turn yellow. The outdoor activities were cancelled because of the air quality. Dance finished up for Sophia and Alice. It was a rehearsal everyday last week, finishing off with two shows at the Grand Theater, on Friday and Saturday. I was in Toronto on Friday, it was a really long day….I left at 5:30am and got home past 10pm. I picked up Sophia on the way home, I had to go for training, for work. This week I was working from home lots, so that helped Frank, because A and B had some sort of stomach bug. They didn’t go to daycare Mon-Wed. They threw up a lot a night, so I’m super tired, since I work late and don’t get good sleeps and wake up early. All I want is a day off! Sophia and Alice are doing good. They are really into Pokemon cards. They keep wanting to buy more and more. They trade on the bus. Peter is okay, he gets sent to the principals office a lot, for making poor choices at school, I hope that changes soon. We keep trying to tell him how to be good, but I don’t know if it is sinking in. He is learning to read, and he is actually doing pretty well with his first words. Frank is at home all the time, he is sick and a bit lost, since he has nothing that he wants to do. I think he is just burnt out. Around the farm we are working on the library a little bit, I hope we will get drywall there soon so we have an office and we can make a washroom downstairs, so that we finally have a shower! We also went to Ottawa on Sunday, it was a good break from being at home. We walked around the mall and over the bridge to Quebec. I think the kids really enjoyed it!

June 17: Saturday, wedding day! Today was pretty stressful. Frank had to get stuff ready for the weddings, the catering company gave us a bit of hard time that we didn’t carry dishes up the stairs for them. IT’s really hard to help them when the kids are all over the map. Sophia cleaned the van for daddy. She also is a very good caretaker of the three ducklings we have. The wedding started a bit later, so I had a bit of time to myself, when the babies took naps. I went for a run. I then bartended the wedding and Frank took care of the kids. It was so busy! They definitely drank alot. I am getting a bit faster with making drinks, I think I’ll get an automatic pourer for shots, which would help a lot. The wedding was really refreshing, full of love. It honestly was beautiful. The kids kept wanting me to give them free drinks, so I gave them an ice tea, they were pretty excited about it.

June 18: Today was Father’s Day. We were so tried, Frank and I, from the wedding. I was asleep at 3am and Frank at 3:30am. The babies woke up at 7:30, so I took them, and Frank slept in. I took SAP to church and Frank stayed behind with the twins. Not because they are sick, it was because they are really busy, and are not that well behaved in Church. When we came back we helped clean up the wedding stuff, a bit, and left to go to Kingston. We bought a tub, for ice baths, and some bikes for everyone. IT was an expensive Canadian Tire visit. Then we had greek food for dinner and went for bike rides at the mall parking lot. IT was fun. We got home pretty late, took baths, and went to bed.
