March 2023

March 1: Can’t believe it’s March already, winter is almost done! We only had a few cold days, and other then that the winter was so mild. Frank and I both worked from home. We had a good day. In the afternoon we the kids went to skating. Michelle came over for dinner. Peter is doing better at listening. Alice says instead of “I woke up” she says “I turned awake”. She is developing into quite an attitude, especially when she gets off the bus. When she is at home for a few hours, she back to sweet Alice, but I don’t know what happens at school and the bus, but she is quite rude when she comes home. We will need to work on that. Sophia is pretty quite all the time and just wants to play video games, paint, and hang out with the chickens. Peter does a lot of Lego and connect the dots.

March 2: I drove to Ottawa today for work. It was a pretty crazy TS station (Slater). It is right downtown, a few blocks from the parliament buildings. It makes the project a lot more real when I see it. I hope I can be helpful on the project. Michelle cooked us dinner, it was a good dinner. We played Blokus again. Sophia was on my computer a lot, because she has a math game that she is really into,. They play it at school and she loves it. Alice and Peter watched her play the math game. We read the children’s bible every night. The girls love it, they beg me to read it to them everynight. Im happy they enjoy the stories, I am learning a lot too.

March 3-5: Today is the weekend! It was pretty low key. Highlights were that we went skating with Bobby and Michelle. It was pretty warm though and the outdoor rink was kind of slushy. I think the kids had fun though. We worked on the library and hung out with the kids.

March 6-7: Monday/Tuesday - These were pretty regular days. We had dance on Tuesday. The girls didn’t go though! We drove to Kingston, they were really late, so we didn’t end up going. I had a doctor appoitment, so Frank was suppose to take them. I’m getting busy at work.

March 8: Today I went to Toronto, to meet with construction. It was okay, I got to see the site, so that was nice. I feel like I’m really behind. I drove home and got the kids. We then went to skating. Frank met us there, we went home had dinner and went to bed. Peter calls cauliflower - white brocolli.

March 9: I left early today to go to Safety meeting for work. It wasn’t that exciting, because I work in the office and it was targeted at people that work in the field. I did meet some people, so that was nice for me and saw what the crews had to deal with. I came home and picked up the kids. We hung out. Frank came home and went to prepare for the library spraying, tomorrow.

March 10: Friday! Today was a crazy day. We are all pretty tired of working and school. March break is next week, and we don’t have many plans, yet. It started pretty early, we woke up around 7. Frank was stressed because insulation was coming, and he wasn’t ready. He had to install some electrical and tape up the beams. I got the kids ready for school. Peter, for the first time, was crying when he got on the bus, he didn’t want to go to school :(. He drove away and he was upset. It hurt me to see him like that. I then drove the twins to daycare. Benjamin cried too when I was leaving :( it was really hard. Then I did work, I’m pretty behind at work with understanding some of the projects. I spent a few hours on the phone with a co-worker, she was really frustrated with me, I have a lot of work to do. Insulation took all day, they sprayed the library! Frank helped them a lot. He bought them lunch too. They broke our ramp, for our cars. When the kids came home, it was nice to see them. Peter got his Lego set! He has been a very good boy. So sweet. We hung out a bit and cleaned up after the spraying and the girls watched their dragon movie - they were so excited.

March 11: Saturday, weekend! We didn’t do much today. I did some work for Hydro and hung out with the kids. Frank did some computer work too. We are both really sad, I don’t know why. Maybe burnt out from working all the time? The kids and I had a day outside, but they fought a lot. We tried to build snow forts, but when the girls built something, Peter would knock it down, thinking it was funny. So it wasn’t that fun. Peter had fun with his Lego set and the girls got to watch the new Dragon Riders movie, so they were really happy about that. We were tired and went to bed. Adam is sick, he cries a lot at night and threw up twice.

March 12: We didn’t go to church today. It starts an hour early, and it was a time change, so it was too early for us. We did hang out at home a lot and didn’t do much. Frank did some work on his bubble stuff and school until about 2pm and then nothing too exciting happened.

March 13: First day of March Break! Going to be crazy, we don’t really have any plans. Frank went to work and I stayed at home trying to do work with them. At night I was pretty frustrated, some stress from work. I left the house and Frank took all the kids. I drove to Kingston, to my office, to do the work. Then I went for a run. It felt good to have a bit of freedom. I hope the kids are having a good time.

March 14: Today I worked in the morning with the kids. Frank came home early from work and took the kids skating and to the bank. Then at night I took them, and he worked.

March 15: Today Frank went to work later, I helped with the kids in the morning. I tried to work, it was hard. I took a half vacation day. We tried to go to Fort Henry because I read it was free on March Break. We drove there, but it was closed. We then ended up just doing grocery shopping at Costco. It was a nice day with the kids. At night Frank tried to work on his bubble thing, but, found it hard because of all the kids. It is pretty crazy during March Break, having all the children and trying to do our jobs.

March 16: Today Frank left to work in the morning. He took the babies to daycare. I tried to work in the morning and then took the rest of the day off. Sophia, Alice, and Peter were at home with me. We went to try another museum today - Communications and Electronics military museum. It was actually open! It was set up for children to enjoy march break activities. We started with a puppet show. They liked it, then I thought that we could tour around the museum, except they weren’t really into that. Instead they went to the colouring area and we coloured together, it was nice. Alice got lost, and she had to ask the Military guys for help. It was kind of embarrassing for me, but we found each other, she was crying. Then in the back they had tanks, I thought that Peter would like it, but, instead there was a board game station, so we spent an hour there. At the end we went to play with electric circuit construction set. Peter loved it. When we got home, Frank came home and I was able to do some work, while he hung out with the kids. The craziest thing happened at night…Peter told us on June 12, 2022 that he put a pistachio shell into his nose. We had it checked out, but nobody saw anything and his breathing was fine. We thought that maybe he made it up. But today he pulled it out :o It was mushy and stinky, it was up there for 9 months!

March 18-19: This was the weekend, also the end of March Break. Alice, Sophia, and I went the National Arts Centre to see the Chinese dancers. It was really fun to go out with them. They loved it, and we went to eat at IKEA after. Frank and the boys hung out at home. The next day we hung out and did a bit of work around the house.

March 20: Adam went to the doctor today. To a neurologist. My car is broken, it sucks, so I have been using Tomas’s car. The transmission is busted. Adam crawled out of his car seat when I was driving on the highway. It was super stressful, I had to pull over and then he cried the whole way there. At the doctor, they said all was good and sent us home, what a waste of time. I dropped Adam off at daycare and went to work. That night was a pretty regular night.

March 21-26: Pretty regular week. We went to dance, and the kids had dentist appointments. Alice is the only one that has no cavities, Peter and Sophia both have one and have to come back to have it fixed. On Friday Alice had a special mass to get her ready for reconciliation and communion. It was at the church, I went with Babi and Deda and Sophia was signing with her class. It was really nice. Then I went home to work. We all the stomach bug on the weekend, not fun

March 27: Toronto. Today I woke up at 5 am and drove to Toronto. I had a meeting. I drove my brothers car because my car is still broken. They had a look and told me that the transmission is broken and a new clutch is needed. It is a 1500 dollar fix. It is really frusturating that I only have 110K on the car, not sure what happened. I’m not a big fan of Honda Civic right now. The Toronto meeting was nice, because I got to meet all my coworkers face to face.

March 28-31: Regular days. Working lots at our jobs, and taking care of the family.
